About this day
A feast on the calendar of the Franciscan Order, marking the dedication of the Portiuncula, the chapel of Saint Mary of the Angels below Assisi. Saint Francis restored it, began his Order there, and died there in 1226; at his request Pope Honorius III granted the Portiuncula Indulgence.
