Our Lady of Mount Carmel

About this day

In the twelfth century hermits on Mount Carmel in the Holy Land, devoted to Our Lady, formed the Carmelite Order. This, their patronal feast, recalls the Brown Scapular given by the Blessed Virgin to Saint Simon Stock in 1251; it was extended to the whole Church in 1726.
