About this day

Peter Chrysologus, bishop of Ravenna in the fifth century, was known for short, vivid sermons, which earned him the name Chrysologus, "golden-worded." Many survive, teaching on the Incarnation and Christian life. He died about 450 and was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1729.
