About this day
Ephrem, a deacon of Nisibis and Edessa in Mesopotamia, taught the faith through hymns, many praising the Incarnation and the Virgin Mary, and is called the "Harp of the Holy Spirit." He died in 373 and was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1920.
