About this day
Perpetua, a young noblewoman and mother, and Felicity, a slave who gave birth in prison shortly before her death, were arrested at Carthage as catechumens under the Emperor Septimius Severus. They were martyred in the amphitheater on March 7, 203, and are named in the Roman Canon.
