About this day
Clement, third successor of Saint Peter as bishop of Rome, wrote to the Church at Corinth urging peace and obedience to its pastors, one of the oldest Christian writings after the New Testament. Exiled to the Crimea under Trajan, he was martyred by being cast into the sea.
