About this day

The weekdays from December 17 to 24 are directed more closely to preparing for the Nativity of the Lord and take precedence over memorials of the saints. From December 17 to 23, Evening Prayer uses the "O Antiphons," each addressing Christ by a title drawn from the Old Testament.
