About this day

The Third Sunday of Advent is called Gaudete Sunday from the first word of its Entrance antiphon, "Rejoice in the Lord always" (Philippians 4:4), and rose vestments may be worn. Its Gospel again presents John the Baptist as witness to the Christ.
