About this day
The Mass at Dawn on Christmas Day. Its Gospel, from Saint Luke, tells of the shepherds hastening to Bethlehem, where they found Mary and Joseph and the Infant lying in the manger. At Rome the Pope anciently celebrated it at the church of Saint Anastasia.
