Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

About this day
Instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925 with the encyclical Quas primas, this solemnity proclaims Christ's kingship over all creation. Since 1969 it has been kept on the last Sunday of Ordinary Time, closing the liturgical year before Advent begins.
