About this day
Scholastica, twin sister of Saint Benedict, led nuns near Monte Cassino. At their last yearly visit, Saint Gregory the Great relates, her prayer brought a storm that kept Benedict with her through the night; she died three days later, and he saw her soul rise to heaven as a dove.
