About this day
Andrew Dũng-Lạc, a Vietnamese priest martyred in 1839, heads a group of 117 martyrs, bishops, priests and lay people, Vietnamese and European missionaries, who died for Christ in Vietnam, most in the persecutions between 1820 and 1862. Saint John Paul II canonized them in 1988.
