Saint John Leonardi, Priest

About this day

John Leonardi, a priest of Lucca in Italy, worked in hospitals and prisons and founded the Clerks Regular of the Mother of God, confirmed in 1595. He also published a summary of Christian doctrine used for centuries, and died of plague caught while caring for the sick.
